The QC Supervisor is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing the Quality Control (QC) team while overseeing day-to-day analytical testing activities in the QC laboratories.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThis role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with Quality and Food Safety standards. The QC Supervisor provides on-site support to QC staff and operations, leads hold investigations, manages reblends, develops SOPs, and ensures all QC training materials are maintained within the training library. This position directly supervises all QC Technologists and ensures department coverage during absences.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\r\n\r\nLeadership & Team Management\r\n\r\n\r\n\tSupervises, mentors, and coaches the QC Technologist team; conducts weekly 1:1 meetings.\r\n\tProvides performance feedback, training, and development plans for QC staff.\r\n\tLeads daily Quality Team Huddles\r\n\tEnsures full daily QC staffing coverage; covers QC shifts when required.\r\n\tOversees day-to-day operation and activities in the QC Flavour and QC Bakery labs.\r\n\tEnsures QC Technologists follow all SOPs, testing protocols, and food safety programs.\r\n\tImplement lean methodologies for laboratory management\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nAnalytical Testing & QC Oversight\r\n\r\n\r\n\tEnsures QC team achieves 100% on-time testing and documentation accuracy.\r\n\tReviews test results, verifies integrity of data, and escalates abnormalities.\r\n\tOversee’s all QC batch testing records and develops appropriate QC parameters for finished products based on statistical analysis of batch testing results.\r\n\tConducts QC testing and product positive release as required.\r\n\tConducts raw material approval testing for potential new raw materials.\r\n\tContinuously improves laboratory processes, analytical techniques and analytical testing methodologies and equipment used in the lab.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nHold / Reblend / Opportunity Investigation Ownership\r\n\r\n\r\n\tLeads all opportunity investigations for holds, discrepancies, scanner errors and quality failures.\r\n\tLeads, coordinates and approves reblend trials with QC and R&D; ensures reblends are set up in the system.\r\n\tEnsures all holds (physical and system) are identified, documented and controlled.\r\n\tMaintains ownership of the internal hold area, ensuring accuracy, organization, and cleanliness.\r\n\tProvides clear communication regarding investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSOP, Procedure & Training Program Development\r\n\r\n\r\n\tDevelops and maintains QC-related SOPs, work instructions, and testing protocols.\r\n\tOwns QC training material; ensures all modules remain current.\r\n\tEnsures QC team training records are up-to-date and compliant with food safety and regulatory standards.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nRegulatory, Customer, and Systems Support\r\n\r\n\r\n\tSupports Regulatory Affairs with receiving document reviews, COFA checks, and supplier document reviews.\r\n\tMaintains strong proficiency in Quality electronic systems: spec database, Business Central, Dynamics CRM, SharePoint, Office 365, Planner.\r\n\tSupports company programs including BRCGS, HACCP, GMPs, Allergens, Kosher, Halal, GFCP, and customer-specific requirements.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nOperational & Cross-Functional Support\r\n\r\n\r\n\tActs as a Quality lead on the production floor; provides real-time troubleshooting and decision-\r\n\tHosts a daily closing meeting with the operations team to ensure the production and quality are aligned.\r\n\tLeads and coordinates operational holds and process deviations when quality issues arise – acting as a cross-functional support for all areas. This involves collaboration with liquid and dry production, logistics, maintenance, scheduling, procurement, regulatory and food safety teams.\r\n\tSupports Lean initiatives and continuous improvement projects.\r\n\tStops production when required to prevent major quality or food safety risks.\r\n\tEnsures QC labs remain organized, clean, audit-ready, and “customer-facing” at all times.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nOther Responsibilities\r\n\r\n\r\n\tCompletes planner tasks before due dates.\r\n\tEnsures all QC activities maintain the safety, authenticity, legality, and quality of products.\r\n\tAdditional duties may be assigned at any time\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nDESIRED PROFILE:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tCollege diploma or university degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or Microbiology.\r\n\t3-5 years of related experience in quality control.\r\n\tExcellent computer, reporting, and time management skills.\r\n\tProven experience in leading projects or programs.\r\n\tExperience in mentoring or training junior staff.\r\n\tPositive and professional attitude.\r\n\tAbility to work under tight timelines and pressure.\r\n\tAbility to work a flexible schedule when required.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nInterested in this Opportunity?
