Job Description: Our client is seeking a confident and personable Small Animal Vet Surgeon to join a busy first-opinion setting where high-quality clinical care and strong client relationships sit at the heart of the role. This position is well suited to a veterinarian who is comfortable managing the pace and responsibility of day-to-day GP work while maintaining a calm and professional approach in sole-charge situations.
The role offers a varied caseload across consultations, routine procedures, and general surgery, supported by a capable nursing team and established internal processes. A strong emphasis is placed on clear communication, continuity of care, and building trust with a loyal client base who value a personalised, attentive service.
This position also provides the opportunity to develop leadership confidence, working closely with senior nursing colleagues to support smooth daily operations, diary flow, and clinical standards, while continuing to grow both professionally and clinically within a structured environment.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing routine and complex consultations with a thoughtful, patient-focused approach
- Undertaking surgical procedures appropriate to experience and clinical judgement
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and detailed patient histories
- Supporting effective day-to-day running of the practice alongside nursing colleagues
- Contributing positively to a respectful and collaborative working environment
Qualifications Needed:
- RCVS registration or eligibility to register in the UK
- Confidence working independently within a general practice setting
- Strong communication skills with both clients and colleagues
