Job Description: Our client is seeking a confident Small Animal Vet Surgeon to join a well-established first-opinion practice on a part-time basis, providing valuable clinical support across a structured two-day working week. This role is well suited to a veterinarian looking to maintain clinical exposure while balancing flexibility and consistency.
The position includes a combination of supported and sole-charge working, allowing the successful candidate to manage their own caseload while also benefiting from collaborative crossover days with an experienced senior colleague. The caseload is varied and engaging, offering a strong foundation for maintaining and developing general practice skills.
This opportunity also provides exposure to hospital-level workflows through a planned rota, making it ideal for a vet who enjoys variety, values clinical support, and is keen to remain involved in a broader care network while retaining a manageable weekly commitment.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering first-opinion consultations with clear diagnostic planning
- Managing routine surgical procedures within individual competence
- Maintaining accurate and compliant clinical records
- Working independently during designated sole-charge periods
- Making appropriate referral decisions when cases require escalation
Qualifications Needed:
- RCVS registration or eligibility to register in the UK
- Experience within small animal general practice preferred
- Confidence working independently when required
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A reliable and adaptable clinical approach
