Pet City is a family owned business servicing the local community since 1957. It is our goal to provide the most up-to-date information on animal husbandry and pet care, and to offer 5 star service that exceeds expectations. We have several departments including small pets, bird & reptile, aquarium and online and we pride ourselves on the specialised knowledge our passionate team can offer in these areas. Sometimes, we have a few gaps that we need to fill with the right person.

Aquarium Department Sales Assistant - Casual

We’re on the lookout for a sales assistant in our Aquarium department (Freshwater & Marine). Candidates must have weekend availability. We're looking for someone who is experienced with marine and/or freshwater aquariums who will thrive in our busy store - helping other aquarium enthusiasts maintain their setup.

We're looking for a bright and hardworking individual who:

Has a keen interest and knowledge of maintaining an aquarium
Has excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
Enjoys sharing valuable advice with other aquarium enthusiasts
Thrives in a team environment
Has previous retail experience
Has a positive, can-do, go-getter attitude
Is available on weekends & public holidays

The role:

At Pet City, we pride ourselves on the passion and knowledge of our team. In this role, you will primarily be assisting aquarium customers by providing valuable information and product recommendations to help their aquariums thrive!

The role also entails maintaining our in-store aquariums as well as restocking and tidying retail areas as needed.

Experience with animal husbandry is highly regarded but not essential.

A casual position is currently available for this role, however for the right applicant, a more permanent position may also be available.
