Neer Farms is hiring a Farm Operations Lead in South Vienna, Ohio. This is a key leadership position responsible for driving the productivity, reliability, and safety of all farm equipment, facilities, and land. The role blends hands-on farm work with operational leadership. You will spend time on core farm duties such as maintaining equipment and supporting planting, spraying, and grain handling, while also leading equipment maintenance and repair, mentoring team members, and partnering closely with ownership. Together, you will guide planning, communication, and execution across both seasonal priorities and long-term initiatives.

Leadership
- Take ownership of the maintenance and repair on all equipment, facilities, and land.
- Sets ambitious goals when planning and leading projects
- Acts as a trusted steward of farm assets through reliable action and transparent decision-making
- Provides informal guidance and mentorship to other team members, fostering a culture of safety, stewardship, and accountability.
Planning
- Contributes strategic input during weekly priority planning sessions
- Evaluates and prioritizes needs to:
- Prepare equipment and facilities for seasonal field activities
- Manage long-term projects involving infrastructure and land
- Complete seasonal and special operational projects
- Supports budget decisions for equipment and facility needs
- Proactively explores efficiency improvements and long-term operational goals
Communication
- Serves as lead contact for vendors regarding maintenance and repairs
- Builds strong relationships with vendors and key customers
- Provides insightful updates during monthly meetings with ownership
- Maintains trusted status within the team through consistent, honest communication
Record Keeping
- Maintains detailed records of equipment maintenance and repair
- Partners with office lead to track expenses by individual piece of equipment
- Oversees grain tracking, setup files, and field boundary data
- Leverages digital tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel) to organize documentation and improve efficiency
General Farm Duties:

- Leads efforts on roadside maintenance including spot spraying and mowing

- Supportsthecropproductionoperationbyprovidingasecondsetofeyesonallfields and growing crops when completing maintenance.
- Maintains all required certifications in line with DOT, OSHA and company policy.
